“ON OLD WARPATHS ON THE WAY” TRAIL TOUR “MARCHKINKELE”

With the shuttle to the Lachwiesenhütte

Start from the Bike Academy Sextner Dolomiten with the Shuttle to the “Lachwiesen Hut” (1.690). Here our dream tour starts past to the S. Silvestro Chapel (1.800) and from there along a military road from the First World War in switchbacks until Marchkinkele (2.550). Each turn of the pedal on this magnificent descent is accompanied by the unique panorama of the Sesto Dolomites with the Tre Cime di Lavaredo in the background. The Marchkinkele is situated on the border with East Tyrol and offers an amazing 360° view of the Sesto Dolomites as well as Austria’s glacier landscape. Follow the path across the plateau and then turn left along an initially flowing trail which has a few, not too technically difficult, hairpin bends towards Malga S. Silvestro hut. At the Silvesteralm hut then a lunch break is planned, before it continues to the Silvesterplatz and then on flowigen Trail's in the direction of Vierschach.

From Versciaco, we take the Monte Elmo cable car to the Monte Elmo (2.040). The comfortable descent to the Baita del Cacciatore starts here and then on to the last rest stop at the “Gasthof Waldruhe” with a fantastic view across the valley to the starting point at the Bike Academy Sextner Dolomiten back to Sesto

ON THE TOP MONTE ARNESE TRAIL TO THE KLAMMBACH HUT

„Funny trails with view on the Tre Cime di Lavaredo”

We start at Sesto from the Bike Academy Sextner Dolomiten to the Monte Elmo ( 2.000 m ) . Option is the cablecar. From there, we continue to Rifugio Gallo Cedrone (2,150) with a short coffee-break and then along a wide, easy cycle path to Rifugio Sillianer at 2,450 metres. We enjoy there, the dream-view of 360° on the Dolomites of Sesto and we go on until Monte Arnese (2,500). We turn right on hiking trail no. 134, along a beautiful moderately difficult single trail S2 to Malga Klammbach (1,940). There we enjoy a typical South-Tyrolean dish like dumplings or a Kaiserschmarren and of course, you get a fresh beer. After our break, we continue along forest path no. 13 back to Sesto to the Bike Academy Sextner Dolomiten .

Alternatively we take the “Erla” Trail to the valley station of the Tre Cime di Lavaredo cable car.
